Ok guys – there was really a lot of Wisdom floating around online this past week! Enjoy all of the FUN as much as I did!!
Pope Benedict XVI ends his tenure as pope tomorrow; but what’ll we call him? Dr. Mark Zia (one of my favorite professors from Benedictine!) wrote a brief and clear explanation of how we’ll address His Holiness after he resigns.
With the election of a new pope starting so soon, it’s time to get on our knees and pray that the College of Cardinals will be guided by the Holy Spirit. PLUS, you can go here to Adopt a Cardinal to pray and fast for the duration of the conclave. I got Cardinal Fernando Filoni of Italy! Adopt one for yourself or one for your whole family to pray for!
Crucial for the path to sainthood is an interior life, and not everyone is familiar with the general idea! My friend Erin published an encouraging piece explaining exactly what it is and telling her readers that a prayerful interior life is what God wants for any and all John-n-Jane Does out there. Don’t miss her wisdom this week!
I’m a perfectionist. This doesn’t mean that I float through life flawlessly; it means that I painfully wish I could and I get all uptight when I can’t. Kristen at We Are THAT Family made the point: it’s okay to be an okay mom. While we need to strive for holiness in our vocations, we don’t need to hold ourselves to a rigidly high standard of doing everything perfectly. Blessed Mother Teresa said, “God has not called me to be successful; He has called me to be faithful.” This applies, well, perfectly to marriage and parenthood and pretty much every other task in life. Don’t miss Kristen’s post World’s Okayest Mom.
Have you ever heard some say that they’re “done” with having kids? Expecting little boy #3, Andrew and I are hoping to be blessed with more children, but adding to your family calls for some careful consideration! After reading Jennifer Fulwiler’s 6 Reasons Not to Say You’re “Done,” I’m trying to entrust the size of our family to God without too much anxiety.
Are your weeks slightly chaotic? Check out Tim Su’s Analog Sunday, and other themed days for a healthy approach to Sundays, Saturdays, and the days in between. My favorite is Analog Sunday – there’s no cheaper mental vacation than unplugging.
AAAAND a bonus! I found this short, watched the first two minutes, then immediately grabbed Andrew to watch the rest of it with me. It’s sweet.
